Description
Irian Jaya Blue Tongue Skink for sale (Tiliqua scincoides) of Irian Jaya is a subspecies of the Blue Tongue Skink (Tiliqua scincoides). It can be found in the Indonesian island of Irian Jaya (now known as West Papua) and other nearby islands. They can grow to be up to 24 inches long and have a strong physique with a distinctive blue tongue. These omnivorous skinks are popular as pets due to their gentle temperament and ease of care.
The Blue Tongue of Irian Jaya Skinks are omnivorous, eating insects, snails, fruits, and foliage in the wild. They can be fed high-quality dog food, vegetables, fruits, and occasionally insects such as crickets or mealworms in captivity.
To ensure that the skink receives all of the necessary nutrients, it is critical to provide a varied diet. The food should be diced or minced into little bits so that the skink may ingest it effortlessly. Fresh water should always be provided for the skink to sip and soak in, in addition to a balanced diet.
It is also recommended that the food be dusted with a calcium supplement to ensure that the skink gets enough calcium, which is necessary for keeping healthy bones and preventing metabolic bone disease.
