Female Petters Chameleons change color when stimulated, turning lemon yellow with two light blue spots and one red.

Many reptiles have the Jacobsen’s organ, which is located just where you’d expect their nose to be and allows them to smell chemical particles. This organ’s ability to smell is significantly diminished in chameleons. This frees them up to use their other senses to catch their prey.

When they see prey, they focus their gaze on it, then send their sticky tongue out of their mouth to grasp it, then retract it back into their mouth to consume it.
