Daily spot checks for feces should be performed in the enclosure of your Irian Jaya Carpet Python, and every month it should be thoroughly cleaned with a disinfectant safe for reptiles. At this time, the substrate should also be replaced, and any cage accessories should be cleaned and disinfected.
A 4% household bleach to 96% water solution makes an effective and affordable disinfectant.

The furniture in the vivarium and cage can be sprayed with this and then cleaned off. Before putting your Carpet Python back in its enclosure, make sure to properly rinse everything with water and let it dry. Fresh water should be provided to your snake at least twice a week.
