Description

SUMATRAN SHORT TAIL PYTHON FOR SALE

Sumatran Short Tail Python is a large, harmless snake that is native to Sumatra. Compared to its length overall, its tail is quite short. The color pattern is composed of brick- to blood-red blotches layered over a beige, tan, or grayish-brown background color.

Sumatra, the Riau Archipelago, the Lingga Islands, the Bangka Islands, the Mentawai Islands, and Kalimantan are all home to Sumatran short-tailed pythons. They live in marshes, swamps, plantations, and areas close to river banks and streams.

Every seven days, a young Sumatran Short Tailed Python can be given a frozen, thawed rat of the proper size. Rats should be the same size or slightly smaller than the snake’s circumference at its widest point.

Hatchlings are large enough to eat their first meal of rat pups or even fuzzies. To stop your snake from favoring mice, it is preferable to start feeding rats right away. Even though this rarely happens with these snakes. You will need to increase the size of the meal as the snake grows. For adults, you can extend the time between feeds to once every 14 days.

These snakes only require this since they are rather passive and have a slow metabolism. Even the occasional tiny Rabbit can be offered if you have a sizable Sumatran. Avoid mistaking your snake’s aggressive feeding behavior for hunger. This is a simple error that can easily result in your Sumatran Short Tailed Python gaining weight.

HOUSING A SUMATRAN SHORT TAIL PYTHON

A plastic tub or rack system can be used to house a Sumatran Short-Tailed Python hatchling or juvenile. They shouldn’t be retained in this environment as adults since they will outgrow it. An enclosure that is 4 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet will be adequate for an adult snake. A 5 foot long enclosure may be required if you have a larger snake.

It might be quite difficult and expensive to find a large 4 or 5 foot enclosure professionally. As a result, custom enclosures are a fantastic choice for your Sumatran Short Tailed Python.
