Description
Malthe’s Green Eared Chameleon (Calumma gallus) is unique to Madagascar. They are medium-sized chameleons, with males reaching 28cm (11in) and females slightly smaller. Their bodies are green, with a prominent green stripe extending from their eyes to their tail.
Females have a smaller bump on their heads, while males have a larger casque. They live in trees and eat insects and other invertebrates. They are occasionally maintained as pets, although they require specialist care and are not suitable for novices.
