E. miliaris consumes a variety of prey items. Invertebrates, lizards, fish, birds, and small rodents are among them, along with amphibians (including their eggs and tadpoles). On its dietary habits, there is not much information, though. According to a study, female E. miliaris snakes with secondary vitellogenic follicles fed more frequently than the non-reproductive females while females with oviductal eggs did not eat.
